Yvette Hickey Anthony passed away peacefully at home on November 19, surrounded by her loving children.

Yvette was raised in St. Petersburg, Fla. and moved to Williamsburg in 1945. She is preceded in death by her parents, Major Bernard Francis Hickey and Mary Hickey Hitchens, her step-father, Albert Webster Hitchens, her sister, Yvonne Parker and brother, Robert Hickey.

She was a graduate of Ashley Hall in Charleston, SC and the College of W & M, where she was a Member of the Tri Delta Sorority. Over her decades in Williamsburg, she was active in Bruton Parish Church, the Green Springs Garden Club, the Junior League, the W & M Quarterback Club and Tina Jeffreyís Lunch Bunch. She was the proprietor of the Art Loft on Prince George Street. She had a fascination with American history, and worked at both Colonial Williamsburg and Jamestown Festival Park, and loved her involvement with the Williamsburg Reunion as an ìOld-Timer.î She seldom missed a home football game. Yvetteís beautiful smile and love of life garnered her many friends.

Her family was her passion, and she the center of their world. She was the loving mother of MaryEllen French (Barry), Susan Bruce Anthony, Sharon Scruggs (Billy), Elizabeth Warren Anthony; Grandmother of: Sam Holden, Daniel Coleman, and Caroline Stewart Scruggs and Mary Warren Viles, (Josh), and Barry Anthony and Neall Michael French, (Nicole); Great Grandmother of: Ellie M. C., Zaun Michael and Jackson Neall French.

She is also survived by her niece, Mamie Ruth Hitchens Blanton (Bill) and her nephew, Bernard Francis Parker (Sally). Special thanks is sent to her dear friend and soulmate, Macie Johnson, and to her wonderful caregivers, Kim, Shari and Teresa.

Services will be held at Bruton Parish Church on December 7, 2 pm, reception to follow at the Parish House. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made by donations to the Heritage Humane Society or to the Hospice House of Williamsburg.
