Worth G. Kirkman, 89, a resident of Williamsburg since 1958, died Friday, January 11, 2013. He was a veteran of World War II, commissioned in the 8th Air Force. He completed 35 missions as a B-17 pilot with the 457th Bomb Group. He retired from the US Air Force Reserve with rank of Colonel. He worked in the textile industry with Dow Chemical Company (Badische, Inc.) for 27 years. He was an active member of the Williamsburg United Methodist Church.

He was married to Katy H. Kirkman for 62 years, who is now deceased. He is survived by his three daughters, Kay Kirkman and her husband, Lindsay Boring, Beth Drubel and her husband, Charlie, and Mary Worth Hansen and her husband, Roger; three grandchildren, Charles Worth, John Drubel and Michael Hansen; great-granddaughter, Olivia Worth Drubel.

A private service was held Saturday, January 12. Memorial donations may be made to Williamsburg United Methodist Church, 500 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, Virginia, 23188 or Alzheimer’s Association, 213 McLaws Circle, Williamsburg, Virginia, 23185. The family extends gratitude to the entire staff at the Williamsburg Landing for many years of care of their parents.
