William Rolland Black, 79, passed away on the 22nd of June, 2017 in Williamsburg, VA. Son of the late Harry and Jean Black, he was predeceased by his first wife, Gail, in 1991. William is survived by his wife; Lynne Liscek Black, children; Michael Black of New Hampshire, Brian Joseph Liscek, and Bonnie Christine Liscek Gravatt (Dan) and a Granddaughter, Beressa Ann Black of New Hampshire. In his early years he graduated high school in Westport, Connecticut, class of 1957. He then went on to pursue his studies at Bridgeport Engineering Institute. Alongside his academic pursuits, he served the United States Army and Naval Reserves. During his time of duty he was stationed in Italy. After his military career he became a Traffic Engineer in Norwalk, Connecticut. Not only was he a man of honor and duty, but a family man as well. He loved his family beyond description. William was also a part of many organizations. He was a member of several professional engineering organizations to include, Transportation and Engineers, the Urban Traffic Engineer Counsel, and Masonic Lodge 108 of Norwalk, Connecticut. A memorial service will be held 11:30 am, Saturday, July 15th, 2017 at Bruton Parish Episcopal Church, 331 W Duke of Gloucester Street, Williamsburg, VA 23185. Inurnment, with military honors, will follow in the church cemetery.
