William J Matkins, Jr

William “Bill” Matkins, Jr. went home to be with the Lord on February 2, 2022 at the age of 79. He was born in Washington, NC on June 19, 1942.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Brenda G. Matkins, and their three children, Ken Matkins (Chrissy), Terry Matkins (Mary), Jennifer M. Marshall (Hayes), and 7 grandchildren, Douglas Jones, Chandler Matkins, Chelsea, Matkins, Cameron Moore, Riley Moore, Emma Matkins and Elle Matkins, 2 great-grandchildren, Parker Jones and Paxton Jones.

Bill loved the Lord and his family (and golf) with his whole heart. Bill spent his career in the Nuclear Engineering department at Norfolk Naval Shipyard and enjoyed his retirement traveling the country with his wife.

A celebration of life will be held February 12, 2022 from 2-4 at Bucktrout Funeral Home.
