Walter L. Garner, III, 69, of Norfolk passed away Thursday, May 1, 2014 at Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital. Walter was born October 22, 1944 to Walter L. Garner, Jr. and Virginia Beach Garner.

Walter is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon A. Garner (Lewis); son, Walter L. Garner, IV; daughter Lora Piscitelli; and his sister Rexine Laird (Garner). He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Dena Arena (Garner).

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 04, 2014, from 5:00 ñ 7:00pm at Bucktrout Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A funeral service will be held 11:00am Monday, May 5, 2014 at Bucktrout Funeral Home, officiated by Walterís brother-in-law Reverend Roger Laird, followed by a 2:00pm graveside service with military honors in Windsor Gardens Cemetery & Mausoleum, 80 Soles Lane, Dutton, VA 23050. In lieu of flowers the family ask that memorial donations be made to the Hospice of Gloucester, 7358 Main Street, Gloucester, VA 23061
