Timothy Leeroy Cromis, 59, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on December 16, 2023 after a long-fought battle of health challenges, surrounded by family. He was born in Washington state in 1964 and was the youngest of four children.
Tim, my father, was a man who loved the sea and working with his hands. He was a skilled craftsman that put many hard hours into helping others restore their homes, giving them the best work possible. My dad spent a great deal of time in the kitchen and prepared exceptional recipes for his family, never wanting anyone around him to be hungry. He was also a great writer and read The Lord of the Rings trilogy at least once a year. Flowing from his love of pirates, he owned two sailboats in his life and dreamt of sailing around the world; he was a true survivalist at heart. Tim found time to love nature and animals. It was always his dream to see the crystal blue water of the Caribbean, and that is where his remains will be spread.
He is preceded by his father and mother, Richard “Dick” Cromis and Shirley Cromis (nee Campbell), as well as his sister, Holly Barron (nee Cromis). Tim is survived by his daughter, Emily Madison (nee Cromis), son-in-law Justin Madison, ex-wife Anna Fordham, brothers Michael & Steven Cromis, nephew Matthew Ashwell, brothers-in-law Bill Baron & Adam Fordham, mother-in-law Brenda Fordham, and family member Sandra Hale. He is also survived by his two great friends, Kenny New and Ed Pultz.
Tim fought hard until the very end. After four years in long-term care, his battle ended and he will be forever missed, more than there are words to say. My dad was always the voice of reason and offered a calmness that we all needed, even as he silently suffered from his own health issues. I will never forget our long bike rides. We love you, Dad.
My father was a lover of Christ and was baptized as a believer in August 1989. Simul Justus et Peccator.
A visitation with Tim’s family will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 6:00-7:30pm at Bucktrout of Williamsburg.
