Teresa (Natale) Kauffman, 94, of Williamsburg, VA , entered into rest on Friday, October 28, 2022. Raised in Barrington, RI, she was the daughter of the late Carlo and Maria (Albano) Natale. She was the devoted wife of the late Steven K. Kauffman.
As a young woman, Teresa moved to Washington, DC where she worked for the Stanford Research Institute as a Research Analyst. The job brought her to Stockholm, Sweden, which piqued her love of travel. As a married couple, she and Steve lived in many parts of the US and, with her tasteful flair for design, she created several lovely homes and always welcomed family and friends. They enjoyed traveling abroad as well as visiting with family all over the country. Teresa volunteered in her community and loved gardening, Bible study, which included a trip to Israel, cooking and playing bridge.
She is survived by her two stepsons, Mark Kauffman and his wife Lucy and John ( Kauffman ) O’Keeffe and his wife Eileen, granddaughter Katie, grandson Brian and his wife Bess and great-grandchildren, Finn and Ryder. She is also survived by a brother Don Natale and 11 nieces and nephews who affectionately called her “ Auntie Tess”. She was predeceased by brother Alex Natale and sisters, Lee Melucci and Jennie Cavaretta.
There will be a Funeral Mass for Teresa celebrated at St. Bede’s Church in Williamsburg on Friday November 18th at 9:00 AM. Following the church service Teresa’s cremains will join those of husband Steven in the columbarium, located in a courtyard next to the Church. Later in the day there will be a Memorial Service in the Parlor of the Assisted Living Building, located at 5500 Williamsburg Landing Drive, at 2:00 PM.
