    VHHA Staff says:
Stuart D. Ogren had a distinguished career as a health care leader, including a lengthy tenure as President of the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA), an alliance of hospitals and health systems in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Mr. Ogren served as the first executive of the Association, which he joined in 1962. Over the course of 27 years in that leadership role, he made substantial contributions to the provision of health care services and the development of health care public policy. In 1990, VHHA institutional members joined with Mr. Ogren’s friends and colleagues to establish the Stuart D. Orgen Scholarship Fund to support the education of exceptional students pursuing studies in health care administration. The scholarships benefit highly-qualified, academically exceptional Virginia students. Through this enduring scholarship program, and the lasting importance of his many contributions to improve the health care delivery system, Mr. Ogren’s accomplishments live on. We at the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Ogren and we extend our sincere condolences to all who knew and loved him.
