Gifts & Memorial Donations

Sherril Marie Hudgins, 58, of Williamsburg, passed away on February 3, 2023. She was born on July 16, 1964.

Sherril was a resident of Williamsburg for the last 30 years, she grew up in Newport News and graduated from Menchville High School and furthered her education, by going to nursing school, at ODU. This is where Sherril found her true calling, by taking care of others. Nursing was never a “job” it was a calling, as evident by the numerous people who spoke highly of her loving ways. She dedicated her whole life nursing and taking care of others. Sherril had a heart that loved everyone and is now with The Heavenly Father. Her faith was very strong and gave her much strength in her life. Sherril fought battles like a true Warrior of God. Her laughter and zest for life will be truly missed by all who knew her. She loved a good hug, so please give your loved ones a ‘good hug’ in memory and honor of Sherril.

Sherril is survived by her mother Evelyne McNulty; father, Frederick Hudgins; two sisters Theresia K .Barnes and Christine Ratliff; brother in law, Warren Barnes; five nephews that she adored, Gene ,Kenny, Matthew, Caleb and Noah Barnes; numerous great-nieces and nephews; cousins and other family who will miss her loving heart and sweet laugh. Sherril was preceded in death by her step-father Emmett McNulty.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 12PM to 1PM with a service to follow at Bucktrout Funeral Home.

    Bonnie says:
Oh my sher- sher. Too infrequently we messaged each other, but we always touched base on our birthdays and Christmas. To learn of your passing came with no reply to my birthday text to you. You would never have done that. I love you so, my friend. I know you are with the One you loved the most...our Lord Jesus. (I am jealous, but we will talk and laugh on that one day in eternity. Until then I labor down here with one less friend; one that will remain forever in my heart.) Tell my mama hello for me. Oh, how I will miss you until the trumpet sounds. Love, Bonnie (DB)
