Sharon Lynn Boggs

Sharon Boggs, a long-time resident of Williamsburg Virginia, passed away, Sunday, July 31, 2016; with her family at her side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born October of 1953 in Placerville (Old Hangtown), California, Sharon moved with her loving mother and father across the United States to Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and New Jersey, finally settling in Williamsburg.

Sharon worked with the Dominion Virginia Power Company for over 40 years and enjoyed her job and close friends at the Surry Plant.

She had a passion for travel, genealogy, and combined those pursuits, on many trips with her mother, to explore both her family’s lineage and the wonders of the many states and countries they visited. She was diligent in her genealogy research, discovering ancestors from the 9^th century in England and immigrations to the colonies in the 15^th & 16^th centuries. She loved the holidays, especially Christmas; the food, shopping and sharing her generous spirit with family and friends.

She is survived by her mother, Carol Stoker of Williamsburg; brothers, Matthew Steinberger and wife Tanya of Alaska, James Steinberger and wife Wanita of Iowa and their children Justin, Christina, Melinda, and Trevor; and great nephew, Tatum. She loved them and the great joy they brought to life.

The family will receive friends tonight, August 2^, 2016 from 6pm to 8pm at Bucktrout Funeral Home of Williamsburg, 4124 Ironbound Rd. Williamsburg, VA 23188; where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 3^, 2016 at 10am. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. A reception will be held immediately after for friends and family to celebrate Sharon’s life and friendship at Bucktrout Funeral Home of Williamsburg.
