Gifts & Memorial Donations

Samuel H. Alspaugh, Sr., 78 of Williamsburg, peacefully passed away with family at his side on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 to join his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley, in Heaven. Born on November 27, 1937 in Richmond, Virginia, he retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1975 after 20 years of service. After retiring from civil service at Cheatham Annex, Sam became an avid coin collector. He loved researching his family history, working with his hands and helping family and friends. Sam will be remembered as a great father, grandfather and friend. He leaves cherished memories to his children: Sam, Jr. (Dorrie), Dahlene, Rebecca, Dori (Mike), Amanda (Brian), and 11 grandchildren. A private service has been planned. In our Dad’s memory, contributions may be made in his name to: Hospice House of Williamsburg located at 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188. Online condolences may be shared with the family at bucktroutfuneralhome.net.

Myy best memories of Sam were meeting many of his friends and finding out what a great friend he has been to so many people. That says a lot about a persons character. He was always a gentleman and has definitely left a void in my heart as well as many others.
