Ruth Elizabeth Hall, 78, of Charles City, went to be with her lord and savior, on Thursday, June 15, 2017.

Ruth served in the Navy for four years and then spent a period of time in the Army Reserves.  She was a nurse at the VA for 10 years and then went on to Eastern State Hospital where she worked for 20 years.

Ruth was a loving and devoted wife to her husband Jimmy, their love was inspirational. It was her ministry to send words of encouragement through cards.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Rachel Clontz; beother, Edwin Bruce Clontz; and son, Robin Clontz. She is survived by her husband, James Hall; son, Ed Clontz (Susie) of Candler, NC; daughter, Sandy Hula (David) of Charles City, VA; son, Jimmy “Jimbo” Hollifield (Debbie) of Williamsburg, VA; step daughter, Tammy Rosales (Jiame) of Williamsburg; step son, Jamie Hall (Melanie) of Williamsburg; brother, Bob Clontz, of Ashville, NC; sister, Jean Burlesom (Boyd) of Ashville, NC; and 10 grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Bucktrout Funeral Home. A service will be held on Tuesday June 20, 2017 at 11:00 am at First Simple Church, 16401 Chickahominy Bluff Rd, Williamsburg, VA 23185 with burial to follow.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Simple Church.
