Gifts & Memorial Donations

Robert Victor Semon, 72, of Williamsburg, passed away on August 15, 2020.

Robert attended SUNY at Binghamton where he received his undergraduate degree, he then went on to SUNY at Buffalo where he received his Juris Doctorate.

Robert, or as everyone called him,  “Bob”, was a dedicated employee of Marriott Vacation Club at Ford’s Colony where he won many awards for customer service and excellence.  He thought of his fellow co-workers as his extended family and loved his job there.

He loved spending time watching football, especially his Buffalo Bills.   He loved going to local festivals and eating all the food he could. Bob could never pass up a good deal and spent lots of time scouring the Sunday coupons.  There was nothing greater than the love or pride he felt for his grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed by all.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Petronelle and Victor Semon, brother, Dr. William J. Semon, and brother-in-Law, William W. Larew. He is survived by his wife, Mellanee A. Larew; daughters Meredith McCoy of Hampton, VA and her husband James, and Lindsey Bethel of Hampton, VA and her husband Marc; step-son, Charlie McPherson, of Durham, NC; and grandchildren, Lance Corporal Matthew Smith, Marshall Smith, Lucas Currier, Sasha Currier, Avery Bethel; Sister-in-law Linda Semon of Des Moines, IA and niece Jennifer Rostal (husband Scott) of St. Paul,  MN.

An open house celebration of life will be held on Friday, August 21, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Bucktrout Funeral Home. For those attending, we ask that you please wear a mask.

Bob, the first person who greeted me for my interview at the Manor Club. He instantly made me feel welcomed and already part of the team. As he did myself he greeted everyone with a smile and twinkle in his eyes. During the 7 years I worked at Manor Club Bob and I developed a friendship that I will always hold close to my heart...he was Bobster to me, a nickname I would call him. The last time I saw Bob was last August when I visited the Manor Club, I am so glad I was able to give him a hug. Our last text was just a couple months ago and it breaks my heart to know he is gone. I believe he is in a better place and know one day we will meet again. Deepest condolences to Bob's entire family. A good man, may he Rest In Peace. ❤️

I have known Bob for 14 years. He was a wonderful man and co-worker. He smile would light up a room. He loved working here at the Manor Club and he was loved and appreciated by all of us here! He never told a guest or associate no, he always worked to make it happen and was part of the "Diamond Club" for the number of "WAY TO GO's" he received from our guest and owners. He has left a big hole here at Manor Club, but leaves us with many memories and lots of love!

I worked with Bob for years, a very good man, and we had a special "work bond". RIP my friend, it's so hard to grasp that you are gone, but I know you are in a better place.
