Robert “Paul” Hudson passed away Monday Jan. 23 at his home in Lanexa Virginia after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family.  Paul was born February 23, 1945 in Sioux Falls South Dakota to Robert Jackson Hudson Jr. and Marie Gladhill Hudson.  He grew up in Reidsville NC where he graduated from Reidsville High School.  He graduated from NC State University in 1967 where he played basketball for the Wolfpack.  After graduation he worked for the City of Williamsburg Va. from July 1969 until August 1st 2009 as the first, year round director, of the Parks and Recreation Dept., he also provided services for York and James City Counties.  Paul was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Marie Hudson.  He is survived by his wife of thirty three years Sharon; daughter Davvon Davidson and husband Terry; son, Matt and wife Stephanie; brother David Hudson and wife Donna; and grandson Kody Childress.  There will be a Celebration of Life at the Hudson Home on January 27, 2023 from 3:00PM-6:00 PM

    Paul Hudson was my biological father. I lost him through divorce. My biggest regret is that my son, his other grandchild, will never get to meet him. My condolences to his family.

    My dad was such an amazing man! He always had a joke for me. I would be laughing my butt off almost in tears while mom just shook her head. He was the BEST dad EVER!! I am going to miss him so much.

    I was blessed to work with Paul for many years. I considered him not only a co-worker but a friend as well. Paul always had a big smile on his face and a joke on his lips. A big guy with a big heart. R I P, my friend. Sending love, prayers and hugs to Sharon and the family.
