Gifts & Memorial Donations

Paula Volpe Ustik of Williamsburg, Virginia, passed away quietly on February 21, 2024, at the age of 85.

Paula was born in 1938 to Angelo and Nina Volpe in Buffalo, NY. She graduated from Holy Angels Academy in Buffalo New York where she was an outstanding student. Paula was always bright, inquisitive and well read.

She met her husband Edward Ustik in Florida and married in 1958. Together they enjoyed a full life and were married for over 50 years. Both worked hard and made many sacrifices to provide a good home and education for their four children. After years of struggle, they opened and operated a successful dry cleaning business in Deerfield Beach. They retired to South Carolina to be close to family.

Paula loved gardening, especially orchids. While living in South Carolina, She created an impressive greenhouse with all variety of plants. She was also very accomplished at needlepoint and knitting. Paula loved music and had a significant collection of classical and opera. She also enjoyed reading and was very interested in current events. Paula loved animals and enjoyed the company of many dogs throughout her life including most recently ‘Lady’. In her later years, she and Ed found solace and comfort in Buddhism.

Paula was a smart and capable woman who, due to circumstances beyond her control, was unable to reach her full potential. That being said, she leaves a legacy of children and grandchildren who have been able to enjoy a significant measure of success and impact to others. They are the tribute of her life.

She is survived by her sister, Janice Dodge; brother, Paul Volpe; four children, Mark Ustik, Denise Hoffecker, Alesia Ustik and Shari Robertson; and eight grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to your favorite charity in her name.

There will be a memorial service in Boston in the near future.
