Paul John Caracciolo, 76, of Williamsburg, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017.

Paul was born on September 24, 1940, to Rosary and Richard Caracciolo.  He served in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1965, was a graduate of The University of Scranton, and retired from Moore Business Forms in Fredricksburg, Viriginia, and Defense Logistics Agency at Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Paul was an avid sports fan.  He coached basketball, softball, and baseball.  His love of sports continued with refereeing high school basketball and football.

In addition to his many sports activities, Paul was a past Grand Knight in The Knights of Columbus and a member of the Saint John Evangelical Catholic Church Folk Choir.  He was also a volunteer for the Honesdale Ambulance Corps.

Paul’s favorite pastimes were golf, fishing and playing cards.  He was also a member of The Kiln Creek Golf Club.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara A. Caracciolo.  He is survived by his wife Joanne M. Caracciolo;  brother, Richard Carr (Phyllis) of Syracuse, NY; children: son, Paul J. Caracciolo Jr. (Charlene) of South Park, PA; daughter, Christine Butler (Donald) of Fredricksburg, VA; Stepdaughter, Lisa Butchello (G. David) of Williamsburg, VA; stepson, Scott Schafer (Courtenay) of Buffalo, NY;  grandchildren,  Erica and Meghan Caracciolo, Dominic Butchello, Gia Chambers (Matthew), Joseph Butchello, Erin Schafer, Eric Schafer, and his longtime furry buddy, Mocha.

Paul was a beloved, husband, brother, father, stepfather, and grandfather.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 17, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m., at Bucktrout Funeral Home in Williamsburg, VA.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice House and Support Care of Williamsburg.
