Rolf Lusk passed away in his sleep in the early morning hours of April 21, 2023 just one week shy of his 88th birthday.

Rolf was born on April 27th 1935 in St. Paul, Wise County Virginia. After spending his early childhood in St. Paul he moved to Williamsburg with his family at the age of 10. After attending Matthew Whaley High School he left to join the Army in 1953.

After three years in the Army he returned to Williamsburg and met the love of his life Jacqueline Morris. They were married in 1958, had two children, and remained married until her passing in 2010.

Rolf spent most of his working life as a brick mason. During this time he worked on many local projects including the Colonial Williamsburg Restoration, the original Williamsburg Community Hospital and he also laid the first cinderblock in the Hampton Coliseum.

In his younger years Rolf was an avid hunter, and fisherman. Later in life he enjoyed competing with the Nansemond Guards of the North-South Skirmish Association. His favorite pastime was spending time with his wife Jackie.

Rolf was preceded in death by his wife Jackie, his parents Lucian and Belle Lusk, his adopted brother Arthur Thomas Denny, and his brothers Edgar “Mark” Lusk Sr., and Ivan “Guy” Lusk Sr..

He is survived by his two children. Daughter Elizabeth Hanks and Son-In-Law David, son Thomas Lusk and Daughter-In-Law Kelly, grandson Thomas Hanks,  and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Bucktrout Funeral Home in Williamsburg on Saturday April 29th at 2:00 pm. Followed by a memorial service at 3:00 pm, and a reception after.
