Norma Rae Womack, 77, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022.
Norma was born in Hanover, PA. Her journey took her through parts of Maryland, South Western and Northern VA, until she moved to and ultimately retired in Williamsburg. Everyone Norma touched knew her to be a very caring, beautiful, hardworking woman. As a young working mother, she put herself through college to begin a career in human resources. She rose through the ranks reaching the level of Staff Vice President of Human Resources at General Dynamics Information Technology. She was truly a self-made, glass ceiling breaking, inspiration.
Norma had a quick wit and a beautiful soul. She loved tending to her flowers placed around the landscape of her home and was never one to leave the house without looking her absolute best. But in the kitchen was where she shined. Creating incredible holiday meals brought joy to her and anyone fortunate enough to be included in the event. Her smile and laugh would light up any room and the hugs she gave made everyone feel loved and cared for.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Sullivan; mother, Ruth Sullivan; and her brother, Gilbert Sullivan, Jr. Norma is survived by her loving husband, Charles Womack; her son, Ted Wright; daughter, Kelli Mills and Son-in-law Doug Mills; daughter, Christine Early and Son-in-Law Jamie Early; her grandchildren, Sarah, Stephanie, Victoria, Cooper, Dylan; and many great grandchildren; her sister, Lois Simmons; and brother, George Sullivan.
A small graveside service will be held at Marburg Memorial Gardens in Hanover, PA at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 23, 2022. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
