WILLIAMSBURG ñ Norma Eva Stockton, 90, died Sunday January 5th, 2014; she was born in London, England on September 13th, 1923. Norma was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Florence Wright, brother John, and sister Connie. Norma was a war bride that came to the US and settled in Williamsburg. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dee Stockton, his daughter Joan and husband Jack Moore of Wicomico Church, VA, sister June Peasley of England, daughter Debbie Cooper of Williamsburg, VA, son Barry Brothers and wife Lynn of Newport News, VA, and NANA to her grandchildren Stacy, Jason, Brandon, Brittany, great granddaughter Adelynn as well as many nieces and nephews and Deeís many grandchildren.
Norma retired from Colonial Williamsburg after 30 years as supervisor of the telephone operators for the Williamsburg Lodge and Williamsburg Inn. She loved to take her daily walks through the restored district. She also was formerly a member of the Knitting Guild of Williamsburg. She loved growing flowers, her many pets, and the feeding of her friendly squirrels. She may be gone but never forgotten.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Olive Branch Christian Church at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow.
