Nancy E (Tichy) Wolpmann, born Nov 20, 1938 in Jersey City, NJ. passed suddenly on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 in Williamsburg, VA. Nancy was married for 66 years to William (Bill) Wolpmann also of Williamsburg. She was the daughter of Helen (Rehm) and John Tichy and was raised in Little Ferry, NJ graduating from Lodi High School. She excelled in gymnastics and in art, earning many awards in her childhood.

Nancy met her husband, Bill, at Multitone Engraving where she was a textile designer. They raised 4 children in the Bergen County area before moving the family to Camden, NY in 1969. She worked for Losurdo Foods in Blossvale and later Rome, NY eventually becoming plant manager of the facility.  Art, gardening, her beloved horse “Babe”, her pets and especially raising her children were her greatest passions. Nancy’s 9 grandchildren remember her keen eye for holiday decorating and creative parties, particularly her annual Halloween fun-filled gatherings with all 9. Later, her 11 great-grandchildren enjoyed the many holiday traditions as they continue to be carried on by younger generations.

In 2016, after enjoying numerous years of retirement in Camden, Nancy and Bill moved to Williamsburg, VA with Bill, Jr and his wife Susan who lovingly cared for them in their later years.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Bill, of Williamsburg, VA; her children, Bill (Sue) Wolpmann of Williamsburg; Diane (Steve) Heath of Wellesley Island, NY; Donna (Jeff) Collins of Sackets Harbor, NY; and David (Dana) Wolpmann of Camden, NY. Dana Wolpmann says:
This is so difficult to have to say goodbye to such a sweet, caring and funny mother/grandmother. We already miss the daily phone calls. Dave, myself, and your grandsons Mark ( Ellis) and Justin will always cherish living in Camden with you & Bill. Our fondest memories are building giant snow animals in the winter, picnics in Forest Park and all the times spent at camp & going to Bouckville. Rest in peace. We will love you forever.
