Michael Feightner, 61, a resident of James City County passed away on October 26, 2013. Mike spent 21 years as a Fairfax County Police Officer and another 12 as a Security Specialist for Mount Vernon High School in Alexandria, VA. He most recently worked as the Lead Security Officer for Warhill High School.

Mike is survived by his wife, Margaret, and his two children, Sarah Elizabeth of NYC and John Paul of Pittsburgh, PA. He has two sisters: Kathryn Feightner of NYC and Patricia Blanner of Kansas City, MO. His brothers are Paul Feightner of Chicago and Thomas Feightner of White Oak, PA.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Bedeís Catholic Church, 3686 Ironbound Rd, Williamsburg, VA at 2:00pm on Thursday, October 31. The visitation at Bucktrout of Williamsburg , 4124 Ironbound Road, will follow on Thursday evening from 5-7pm.

    To the Feightner family - my son attended Warhill - in fact my son Jayce (who is 6'6") helped coin the now famous naming of 6'8" at Warhill. During Jayce's two years on Warhill's basketball team he was given so much encouragement from Mr. Feightner. They loved to talk basketball but I also believe he was teaching Jayce about so much more than being a good basketball player but being a good man. Thank you for coming to Williamsburg and being a part of our lives. You all are in our thoughts and prayers.
