Mary Reinhardt

Gifts & Memorial Donations

Mary Reinhardt, 76, went home to her heavenly Father on Monday, October 17th. Mary fought a valiant battle against peritoneal cancer for three and a half years. She fought because of the love she had for her family and because of the love her family had for her.

Mary has always been and forever will be loved by her husband of 52 years, Curt. Mary was Curt’s world. He adored her and his love for her was transparent and unquestionable. Mary and Curt had no natural born children but they raised several. After a tragic event when Mary was 23, Mary and Curt became the guardians of Mary’s 2 younger brothers and younger sister who
they have always loved and supported. Years later, Mary and Curt became the guardians of Curt’s nephew and raised him like their own son.

In addition to Curt, Mary is survived by her siblings, Claude (Buck) Kendrick, Larry Kendrick, Diane Wilks and husband JR. sister in law, Candy Kendrick, wife of her late brother Darrell and
her nephew-son Jonna Reinhardt, his wife Madeline and their children Archer, Brandt and Camille. Grandchildren have brought Mary and Curt much joy and gave “Nana” another reason
to continue to fight the cancer because of her love for her family.

Mary achieved many awards and industry recognition during her career in resort sales, retiring in 2015 as the VP of Sales for Gold Key Resorts, Virginia Beach. Mary broke the glass ceilings in what was once a male dominated industry. She worked smart and she worked hard and her professional legacy lives on in women who followed behind her. But, her greatest award was the
many loving friendships she made along the way. There are far too many friends to mention them all but a special thank you to Beverly, Dana, Sherry, Jason and Sofia and Jim and Valerie
who loved and supported Mary during her cancer battle. Mary loved them like family and we, Mary’s family, are so grateful for their love and support for her and for us.

At a future date, Mary will have a private service for family and close friends. Mary was a Christian and loved and trusted Jesus as her Lord and Savior. To honor Mary, please give to a
charity of your choice.
