Gifts & Memorial Donations

Marjorie Louise Carey (nee Fleming) died peacefully at home on Saturday, October 31, just shy of her 103rd birthday. She was married to John Patrick Carey, Jr. for nearly six decades, until his death, and she is survived by her four children, her nine grandchildren, and her eighteen plus great grandchildren.

Margie was born and raised in the Bronx and lived there until moving to Williamsburg in 1986. Known to all as a kind and special lady, she was devoted to her family, her friends, and her faith. Her service commitments included the Altar Guild, Medical Missions, and Sodality in NYC, and Young at Heart, Church Women United, and EnvoyNursing Home volunteer here in Williamsburg.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, at St. BedeCatholic Church, followed by interment of her ashes. Her family will host a celebration of her life lunch and “birthday party” that afternoon.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Relief Services: www.crs.org.
