Maria Teresa ìTerriî Willis passed away on September 15, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Asuncion, Paraquay on December 26, 1944. In 1962, she met Sgt. James Willis (USMC) of the embassy security detachment. They were married in May 1965. They retired from military service in November 1987, moved to Williamsburg in 1990. Through the years she never met a person she did not like, kings and beggars were treated all the same. As things went awry as they sometimes do, her voice would softly raise in song assuring the family that all would be well again. When her cancer returned as stage four (terminal) she kept a positive approach to life. She believed ìyesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery and today is a giftî. Live today to the fullest look forward to tomorrow and hold no grudges against the past. We will keep these sentiments in our hearts and strive to emulate her expectations until we meet again. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother. She is survived by her sisters, Herminia Monello and Beatriz Aguero. Her husband, James. Her son, Thomas and daughter ñin- law, Tracy and grandchildren, Robert, Colin, Regan and Caleb. Her daughter, Ana and granddaughter, Rebecca. Special thanks to Dr. Booth, Miriam News and the nurses and staff at VA Oncology for their professional and compassionate care. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
