Gifts & Memorial Donations

Margaret “Peggy” Ann Sacra Biggins Sharp,  of Wiliamsburg, passed away on December 29, 2017. She was born the fifth child to a prominent Orange County, VA farm family. She grew up with a love of family, the land and animals. She attended and graduated from James Madison University.

Upon graduation she worked as a teacher and guidance counselor for many years in the Newport News school system. She met and married George Donald Biggins, son of a prominent Peninsula political family. She and Don had one child Donald Biggins.

Upon retirement from the school system, she moved to Williamsburg where she purchased a home in Holly Hills. She was active in the Presbyterian Church as Deacon and Elder.

She continued to travel the world with her older sister and friends, visiting many national and international venues. Her first husband passed and was buried in Newport News. She continued community service by serving on the Williamsburg Electoral Board and continued her education at the College of William & Mary.

After a number of years as a widow, she married William Robert Sharp, Jr. They maintained their home in Williamsburg, both active in the church, local politics, and bridge. Peggy’s recent activities had been limited due to a lack of balance that eventually kept her in a wheel chair or bed ridden. She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.

She is survived by her husband, William R. Sharp, Jr.; son, Donald William Biggins; brother, William Sacra; and granddaughter, Jessica Morgan Biggins.

The family will receive friends on January 5, 2018 from 2pm – 4pm at Bucktrout Funeral Home. A service will be held on January 6, 2018 at 1pm at Bucktrout Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Peninsula Memorial Park.

    Cynthia Cashore says:
Peggy was a woman ahead of her time in many respects and someone who will be missed by all of us who have come to know her over the years. She had a thirst for knowledge, loved her family and friends, enjoyed bridge, and was an absolute joy to be around. The last several months were difficult but Bill attended to her with love and devotion. We in Holly Hills shall miss her greatly but she set an example by word and deed for us to follow. God bless you Peggy.
