Margaret H. Ownby, 76, of Williamsburg, VA passed away on August 14, 2017. Her daughter, Lisa Ownby, and son-in-law Matthew Connolly survive her as well her four grandchildren, Marshall, Briar, Oakley, Townsend and her ex-husband, but forever friend, Gene Ownby.  Margaret was a librarian for the Library Congress, the State of Virginia and Fairfax County for over 40 years. Born November 8th, 1940 in Maryville, Tenn. Margaret was the daughter of the late James and Muriel Hackworth and the sister of Elizabeth Munsey.  She was preceded in death by her beloved son, David Eugene Ownby.  She was a proud graduate of Tennessee Temple University majoring in English (1963). She completed her graduate work at Vanderbilt University majoring in Library Science (1964).  Margaret moved to Williamsburg from Fairfax, in 2011 to be close to her grandchildren.  She enjoyed art, painting, drawing and doting on her grandchildren. She will be inurned beside her son in Fairfax, VA at a later date.  In Lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in her memory, to Child Development Resources, 150 Point O Woods. Williamsburg, VA 23188.
