Lucille Montague Scheppe passed away peacefully on February 11, 2014 at Spring Arbor in Williamsburg, Virginia at the age of 95.
She was a native of Pennsylvania and lived in Washington Crossing for over 50 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Frances (McCole) Montague and in 1995 by her husband, John J. Scheppe. Lucille worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant at Educational Testing Service in Princeton, New Jersey but her very favorite activity was taking care of her family and enjoying her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a kind and gentle lady who touched many people during her long life.
She is survived by her two daughters, Suzanne (Arthur) Michel of Toano, VA and Mary L. Michel of Newport News, VA; six grandchildren: Chris (Melissa), Aimee (James), Marc (Nieves), Cara (Jeffrey), Courtney, and Peter (Veronica); 11 great-grandchildren; a brother Eugene (Helen) McCole of Mountlake Terrace, Washington; and a cousin, Geraldine Holden of Levittown, Pennsylvania.
The family would like to thank everyone at Spring Arbor and Heartland Hospice for taking such good care of our mother.
A mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg and burial will take place in Pennsylvania.
