Loretta Frances Schroeder, 88, a resident of Williamsburg since 1966, died Wednesday, December 19, 2018. She was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late Clarence Neville and Ruth Mary (Wolf) Neville. After her April 16, 1955 wedding to Jack Schroeder, she became a full-time homemaker, who was proudly devoted in the raising of their eight children. She was an avid reader, quilt maker, and a longtime member of St. Bede Catholic Church.
She is proceeded by, her husband of 53 years, John C. Schroeder; as well as her granddaughter, Diana Hodge.
She is survived by her 8 children, Mark Stephen Schroeder of Glen Allen, Barbara Ann Bryan (Bob) of Bracey, Susan Marie Wilson (Jay) of Cumming, GA, Mary Elizabeth Schakel of Norge, John Thomas Schroeder (Sara) of Ellicott City, MD, BJ Schroeder (Susie) of Williamsburg, Stephen Michael Schroeder (Donna) of Glen Allen, Christopher David Schroeder (Dinia) of Norge (via Arequipa, Peru)
15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren also survive, Cynthia Keener (Aaron), Marie Connor (Jason), Michael Schakel (Kaitlynn), Carl Wilson (Emily), Paul Wilson, Sidney Schroeder, Albert Schroeder, Stephanie Schroeder, Michelle Schroeder, Johncarl Schroeder, & Katie Schroeder; Tyler Stickrod, Seth Stickrod, Ayden Connor, Sterling Connor, Ari Connor, Blaire Quinones, Emerson Connor, Sloane Wilson, Bella Mae Mobley
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 AM in St Bede Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. In lieu flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Hospice Community Care, 1064 Loftis Blvd., Newport News, VA 23606 or to the Parkinson’s Foundation, the Dementia Society of America, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (she loved children).
