It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Leatizell Beck, known affectionately as Leta, on February 15, 2024. Leta lived a life filled with love, kindness, and devotion to her family and community.

Leta worked as a hairdresser before she found true happiness in settling down and marrying. Her interests were varied, from acting in skits at church to playing the piano and enjoying the simple pleasure of reading. Leta was a faithful member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, where her presence and warm spirit will be dearly missed.

Leta is preceded in death by her parents, Charles & Ethel Perkey, and her brother, Lenvin Perkey. She is survived by her son, Charles Robert Stone, and his wife Roxie Stone; her sister, Rinda Gay Akeman; grandchildren Niki Davis (Jim) and Jason Stone (Elisha); and great-grandchildren Jack and Mackenzie Davis, and Emma Stone.

Services to honor and remember Leta will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Bucktrout Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Leta’s name to Hospice House of Williamsburg, at 4445 Powhatan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA 23188.
