Kathleen Reinke, 96, died at her daughterís home in Virginia on Monday, June 1, 2015. Born in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late George H. Schroeder and the late Irene Schroeder (nee Schmidt). In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Henry Reinke, and her brother, O. R. Schneider. Kathleen was a resident of Holbrook, NY for over 50 years and worked as a Secretary on Wall Street in Manhattan, New York. She was active at St. Johnís Lutheran Church coordinating the alter guild for many decades. Her smile and determination will be missed.She is survived by her daughter, Deborah, and son-in-law, George V. Barber.Burial will occur at the Calverton National Cemetery in New York at a later date.In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Gentiva Hospice, 217 Bullifants Blvd., Williamsburg, VA 23188 or by visiting their website; www.genevahospicefoundation.org, St. Johns Lutheran Church, 1675 Coates Ave., Holbrook, NY 11741, or King of Glory Lutheran Church, 4897 Longhill Rd., Williamsburg, VA 23188. Each of these organizations was special to her. The spiritual bonds and support given by her church families gave her strength and comfort. The Gentiva Hospice Team gave her physical comfort and emotional support in the final stages of her life. Thanks go to each of you for your part in helping Kathleen feel welcomed, loved, and cared for over the years. Cremation Arrangements are in the care of Bucktrout Funeral Home, Williamsburg, VA.
