Gifts & Memorial Donations

John Vincent Elliott Sr., loving husband, thoughtful son, dedicated father, passed away unexpectedly on July 7th, 2020 at the age of 69. John was born and raised in Detroit Michigan.  Williamsburg VA was a place that he talked about living for years, so this was where he settled.  John was most known for always working hard, and fixing things.  His mechanical aptitude carried forward in everything he did, from machines to people.  John was known to be there to fix what was broken.  He was always there when needed and could always be counted on. John met the love of his life on April 6th 1971 and from that point on, his life changed course.  John was a central part of all the family as he was loved by all the kids.   The kids always looked forward to his games and him playing tricks on them, hiding their shoes, pretending to wear their jackets, taking their noses.  Anything for a Laugh.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Lillian Elliott.  He is survived by his wife, the Love of his Life of 46 years, Loreen (Paddock) Elliott; Daughter, Cynthia (Michael) Darr; Son, John (Melissa) Elliott, Grand Children; Alexandria Elliott, Lillian Elliott, Austin Elliott, Elliott Darr, Logan Elliott, Sakura Elliott, and Evelyn Darr; Siblings, Brian (Marilyn) Elliott, Kathleen (Bob) Garvey, Kevin (Peggy) Elliott, Carolyn (Paul) Falcone, Michael (Cathy) Elliott, Chris (Sherry) Elliott, Maureen (Bob) Speer, Stephen (Julie) Elliott and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

There will be a service to celebrate his life Saturday, July 25th, at 1:00 pm at Bucktrout Funeral Home.

My favorite memory of John was when he would organize the kids for Christmas Carols . It started in Pop’s basement from where we would pile into cars and invade the neighborhood. He was a great dad and husband and the spirit of Christmas .

My condolences to the entire Elliott family. I didn't have the pleasure of ever meeting John Sr but I do know his son. There is a saying that " The Apple doesn't fall far from the tree". Raising children is not an easy thing to do, but judging by the way his son has grown he was an amazing man. My heart goes out to your entire family.

So saddened by the sudden passing of John, fortunately Maureen and I spent a few days with John and Lori remembering old times, a few great days of fun and laughter. When out, as usual, John would be very engaging with strangers, if they had kids it was like the three of us didn't exist we have so many happy memories! My deepest condolences to the entire family God bless
