John A. Rossland, 86, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on January 7, 2013 following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin and is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marylin. Mr. Rossland was born and raised in the Cleveland, Ohio area, graduated from Denison University and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.

He was an Air Force veteran, a Mason and a long-time member of the Presbyterian Church in several locations serving as a Deacon and Elder active as a volunteer relating to building and grounds. John Rossland had a 30 year career as a sales and marketing executive in the corrugated packaging industry.

Mr. & Mrs. Rossland have been Williamsburg residents since 1983 and served as volunteers in several departments of Colonial Williamsburg for over 15 years. Mr. Rosslandís avocations included wood working and travel planning and the Rosslands were active international travelers. He was also active in The Colonial Virginia Model A Ford Automobile Club.

A memorial service will be conducted at the Jamestown Presbyterian Church on Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions may be made to the Jamestown Presbyterian Church, 3287 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA, 23188.

    We mourn John but celebrate his life. He was such a special person - a mentor and friend to us both. He and Marylin helped me so much with the bulletin and Kirk Courier for WPC. Will miss him and pray for peace for your Marylin.
