Joan Alice Mills, 79, of Lanexa, VA, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, January 20, 2015. Always putting others before herself, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was married to the love of her life, Raymond P. Mills, for over 60 years. She was the middle daughter of the late William E. and Anita M. Crocker. Loving sister to Patrica Hitt of St. Louis, MO and Helen Mazepink (Dave) of Carlsbad, CA. She is preceded in death by her youngest son Mark E. Mills. Joan is survived by her children Charles R. Mills (Cindy) of Portsmouth, VA; Patrick W. Mills (Tammy) of Providence Forge, VA; Linda M. Dore (Mike) of Virginia Beach, VA; John S. Mills (Sallie) of Mechanicsville, VA; David B. Mills (Michelle) of Richmond, VA. Twelve grandchildren Emily Austin (Chris), Angela Cline, Chrissy McCannon, Heather McCannon, Laura Denson (Aaron), Jessika Montoya (Andrew), Becky Mills (Josh Mizelle), David Mills, Jr. (Erin), Sarah Browning-Mills, Benjamin Mills, Mallory Mills and William Mills. Six great grandchildren Julianna Mills, Alonah Austin, Kayla Austin, Makayla Denson, Lily Mills and Ryan Mizell.

The family will be receiving visitors on Saturday, January 24th from 2 – 4 p.m. at Bucktrout of Williamsburg located at 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188. A 2:00 p.m. gravesite service will be held on Sunday, January 25th at Hampton Memorial Gardens located at 155 Butler Farm Road, Hampton, VA 23666. Chaplain Don Seeterlin will be conducting the service.

The Mills family would like to thank the doctors, chaplains and the staff at Sentara Regional Medical Center for their loving care and compassion.
