Jessie Mae Meadows of Williamsburg passed away peacefully on July 19, 2012 at the age 95.
Jessie Mae was born March, 27, 1917, in Surry county to Martha and John Hargrave, the family moved to James City County to in 1927. Jessie Mae married Randle A. Meadows on March 27, 1937. They co-owned and operated Meadows Lumber. She was a devoted member of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, Susan Richards Circle and a retiree of Colonial Williamsburg. She was preceeded in death by her husband Randle on July 17, 1975; sister Iola Hunt; three brothers, Ben, Bert and Enos Hargrave, son-in-law Joseph Brown.
She is survived by her three daughters: Barbara Brown; Joan Forrest and husband David; Pamela Thompson and husband Charles. Six grandchildren: Randy Brown, Bonnie Wilson, Elizabeth West, Melissa Marvin, Tracy Christie and Barry Thompson. Nine great-grandchildren: Jordon and Kylee Brown; Keith Ash; Grayson and Davis West; Tyler and Travis Christie; Delaney and Skylar Thompson.
A graveside service will be held Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Williamsburg Memorial Park at 1:00.
