Jerry S. Rose, Sr.

Mr. Jerry S Rose Sr (Papa Rose), of Norge Va died in his home, surrounded by his family on January 19, 2018. He was 76 years old.

After a valiant battle with a long illness, his devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his struggle and ultimately gave him peace.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney F Rose Sr and Bernice T Rose; his brothers, Sidney Rose, Jr. and James Thomas Rose; and sister, Carolyn Elva Bush. Jerry was blessed with a large and loving family. Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Rosemary Rose (Mama Rose); his 3 children, Jerry S. Rose Jr, Timothy D. (Kimberly D.) Rose, Sharon E. (Daniel D.) Steward; siblings, Nancy (Ronnie) Adams, Janet (Mark) Rogers, Linwood E. Rose, and Bernard L. (Donna) Rose; his 6 grandchildren Jerry S. Rose III, Christopher Daniel Rose, Chelsea Elizabeth Rose, Kody Daniel Rose, Jacob Wayne Rose, Tyler Matthew Rose, and Heather Lynn Markham; and 2 great-grandchildren, Ellie Rose Casanave and Elijah Vlad Casanave.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jeffrey Blanchard for all of the years of outstanding care and friendship.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 22, 2018, from 6pm – 8pm at Bucktrout Funeral Home. A service will be held on Tuesday,  January 23, 2018 at Christ Community Church, 9001 Richmond Rd W, Toano, VA 23168, at 12pm with burial to follow at Williamsburg Memorial Park.
