Jerry Mitchell Carter Sr., age 73, passed away on March 11, 2017. He is preceded in death by his mother, Vera Bray Carter; father, Floyd Willard Carter; step-father, George Meredith Carter; brother, Floyd Carter and sister, Barbara Lindholm. Jerry is survived by his wife, Carolyn Carter; children, Lynne Clark(John), Cindy May(Michael),  Carol Carter, Jerry Carter Jr.(Courtney), Deborah Richardson(Roy),  Rebecca Miller(Ron);  siblings,  Juanita Ashby; Irene Dunn, Linda Tingen; 11 grandchildren; and many other family members and friends. Jerry had a passion for hunting and fishing, and was also an avid gardener and cook. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 from 11am-1pm at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Rd. Williamsburg, VA 23188; where a service will follow at 1pm. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be shared at bucktroutfuneralhome.net
