Gifts & Memorial Donations

Jaime Lynne Buckner Gregory, 38, of Williamsburg, with all the physical suffering she endured, Jaime went peacefully to be with Jesus on October 30, 2021.

Jaime was a graduate of Williamsburg Christian Academy, Class of 2001. She was a Medical Technician, Certified Nursing assisting, and was studying to become a phlebotomist until her kidneys failed. She had more than her fair share of physical pain, yet, you would never have known.

She loved to cook, knit, craft, and spend time with her family, especially her 3 cuzins. Her favorite books were the Bible and To Kill a Mockingbird. Her favorite Bible verse was Phil 4:13, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” She could lighten the mood in any room with her quick wit. Jaime loved fiercely, especially her four-pound, pure-bred, teacup Chihuahua, named Tequila Rose, who was her companion for 12 years until her passing in May of 2020. And you can’t forget her LOVE for sunflowers.

Jaime is preceded in death by her Papaw, Wayne L. “Buck” Buckner; and great-grandmother, Mary L. Morris. She leaves behind her mother, Sheryl Lynne Buckner; grandmother, Rose Marie “Meemaw” Buckner; aunt, Laura Buckner Smole; uncle, Bob Smole; cuzins, Cara, Stephanie, and Ben Smole; and Numerous great aunts, uncles, 2nd and 3rd cousins.

Words cannot describe how grateful we are to the people who have cared for Jaime over the years. The City of Williamsburg Fire Department responded to countless calls and took such good care of Jaime each time they were called upon. Sentara’s team of doctors, nurses, and home health care, as well as Fresenius Kidney Care – you are family to us.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church. 1677 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

Memorial contributions may be made in Jaime’s name to the Williamsburg City Fire Department, 440 N. Boundary Street, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

“God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:3,4)

    Susan E Hyde says:
Jaime was such a good friend to me for more than 10 years. As l started my journey with kidney failure & dialysis she was always there to help me navigate the health care system & answer any questions l had about anything, but more than that, we were able to commiserate together & talk about the challenges we both faced daily. I'm not sure if l would have made it thru those early dark days when l just wanted to give up if she had not been there to lift me up & convince me l could handle everything that was thrown at me. Jaime, l will truly miss your friendship, your quickness to laugh thru the pain & suffering & the encouragement you gave me to keep on going - if not for my family & the people who cared for me - but for myself as well. You were (and still are) a gift in my life...l will never forget you & the times we shared together. As my Naval Officer father would say..."fair winds & following seas"...l know how much you loved the beach & ocean & l hope both of those things are present in your part of Heaven. I'm certain you are leaning safe into the loving & protective arms of Jesus now where there is no more pain or sorrow. I will forever miss you...Susan
