Hilda Kelly Offutt

Gifts & Memorial Donations

Hilda Kelly Offutt of Williamsburg departed this life for her eternal heavenly home on Dec. 18, 2018. A native of Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Vida Kinsell Kelly and Rep. M. Clyde Kelly, Congressman from PA recognized as “Father of Air Mail” because of legislation he sponsored. Hilda worked for Congressman John McDowell and for the Navy Dept. Her true calling, however, was as a proud homemaker and mother to her four children, Linda Winterhoff (Warren), Kathleen Carlson (Robert), Nancy Shockley (Michael), and Richard, Jr. (Cindi). She was married to the love of her life, Richard Howard Offutt for 68 years. She was a tireless volunteer: causes she particularly loved were Meals on Wheels where she volunteered for 35 years and the Women of Christ Church (Kensington, MD) where she served in many capacities including President. The family is very grateful for the compassionate care of Spring Arbor Assisted Living and At Home Hospice over the last years. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated at Meals on Wheels, 1769 Jamestown Rd., Suite 1-D, Williamsburg, VA 23185.

I am so sorry for your loss. Death can be so hard. May knowing that you are in our prayers comfort you. May the “God of comfort” continue to comfort you, 2 Corinthians 1:3,4. For help in dealing with the loss of a love one feel free to visit this Bible based site. jw.org
