Henry Francis Hartman, 81, of Williamsburg, Virginia passed away on January 14, 2023.
Henry lived a life full of accomplishments. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University, earning his master’s degree in television production. With multiple careers as a top secret training filmmaker for the Defense Department, entertainment director for SeaWorld of Texas, and national teleconference network director, Henry’s passion was always education as he served in both teaching and administrative roles throughout his life. In retirement Henry sought opportunities to help others throughout the community. He was a reading and citizenship mentor with Literacy for Life and volunteered as a Welcoming Ambassador with Colonial Williamsburg. He was a lifelong musician who most recently played with the Higher Ground Jazz Band. Henry also enjoyed being active. He loved gardening, sailing, traveling and many other outdoor activities.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Henry is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Victoria Hartman and his brother, Roy. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Hartman; sons, Christopher and Ethan Hartman; daughters-in-law, Dacotah Hartman and Sydney Russell; grandchildren, Asher and Leo Hartman and his sister, Rosemarie Hartman.
A celebration of his life is planned for Sunday, March 5th 2-4pm at the Williamsburg Community Building. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to Literacy for Life (www.literacyforlife.org).
