Gregoire Alan Welty, aka, Greg Welty, 57, of Williamsburg, VA, believed to have passed away on August 13, 2020, found in the woods of Charles City County, VA on Aug 26, 2020.

He was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint, MI on February 9, 1963.  Greg Welty graduated from Brighton High School, Brighton, MI in 1981 and received his High School Diploma.  He took some courses at then Cleary College in Howell, MI towards a degree in Business Administration.  Greg Welty was married to Kimberly G Heussner on Sept 1, 1990.  They were married for 29 years.

Greg Welty worked in the HVAC industry for 29 years.  He worked for Lakeside Service Company in Brighton, MI for 13 years.  Also for Geofurnace in Traverse City, MI and AAA Service Company in Howell, MI.  In 2007 he moved his family to Williamsburg, VA and was a territory manager for Gemaire Distributors for 9 years.  He also worked for a couple of other distributors and for Griffith Heating a Cooling in Midlothian, VA.  Later working for Northway Marketers from Hoboken, NJ as a manufacturer’s rep in HVAC.   It was often said he could “sell ice to an Eskimo.”  He was a conscientious salesperson, honest, and fair to all in his business practices.

He liked Michigan football, traveling, and yardwork.  He was a champion roller skating speed skater during the years that his family owned Rollerama, Brighton, MI.  He also was a Cub Scout den leader and assistant cub master.  He enjoyed fishing with his son and collecting bottles, rocks, and sand from his travels.  He enjoyed making wood crosses.  He enjoyed taking his family spontaneously on family adventures.

Greg is predeceased by his mother Carole Anne Perry; father Rex Alan Welty; and brother Scott Jamison Welty.  He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Welty; daughter Mikaela Welty; son Joshua Welty; as well as his mother, Lynne Welty; sisters Lyn Welty Lee and Lori Steward; and brother, Michael Fuhst.

Funeral Visitation will take place at Bucktrout Funeral Home in Williamsburg, VA from 2-3 for family, 3-6 for public on Saturday Sept 12.  A Christian service will be held at King of Glory Lutheran Church at 2:00 on Sunday Sept 13.  Attendance due to COVID will be by invitation only.  The service can be enjoyed by all livestreamed on Sept 13 at www.KOGVA.tv.

Graveside Service will be at 11:00 am at Lakeview Cemetery in Howell, MI on Saturday Sept 26th.  A gathering at Linden County Park Pavilion #3 will take place following the service.  Bring your own drinks and food for lunch.  Both events are open to friends and family.  Anyone who would like to attend is welcome.

We remember Greg's big smile with his infectious blue eyes. We remember his willingness to have as spend 3 months of winter at you house as we escaped "Michigan winters." All the adventures we had with your family are priceless and will be cherished. In his words "when are Nana and Papa coming this year." We will miss you Greg and will hold dear the last time we saw you when you stayed with use last year, we had some good old fashioned family talks.
