Gerard & Madison Oakley

Gifts & Memorial Donations

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Gerard and Madison Oakley. Though their physical presence may no longer grace our lives, their spirits will forever live on in our hearts and memories. Their departure serves as a reminder to cherish the precious moments we have with our loved ones.

Gerard, who is retired, dedicated many years of his life to the Royal New Kent Golf Course, found solace in the beauty of the green fairways. His passion for golf, football, and culinary adventures brought joy to those around him. Gerard was always willing to share his love for cooking and trying new recipes, inspiring us all to embrace creativity in every aspect of life.

Madison, a nurturing soul, worked as a preschool teacher’s aid at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Child Development Center. They possessed a remarkable talent for connecting with children, leaving an indelible impact on their lives. Madison’s diverse interests included collecting various treasures, solving puzzles, fashion, baking, reading, traveling, and spending peaceful moments at the beach. Their zest for life was truly contagious.

Though Gerard and Madison hailed from different educational backgrounds, they shared a thirst for knowledge and personal growth. Gerard attended Rutgers University and graduated from Clifton High School, while Madison pursued her education at Williamsburg Christian Academy. Both carried with them the lessons learned in these institutions and applied them to their lives with grace and resilience.

Gerard is survived by his loving wife, Ann Marie Oakley, as well as his mother Marilyn Oakley, brother William Oakley, sisters Dian VanNortwick and Marilyn Baldwin, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Madison leaves behind her devoted mother, Ann Marie Oakley, grandmother Marilyn Oakley, uncles William Oakley, Philip Heisse Jr., and Michael Heisse, aunts Marilyn Baldwin, Janet Bouyelas, Dian VanNortwick, and many cherished cousins.

A celebration of Gerard and Madison’s lives will be held on Friday, December 15th at 1:00 PM. This occasion will provide an opportunity for us to gather together, share stories, and honor the memories we hold dear. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a mental health organization in Gerard and Madison’s memory. Let us remember them not only for their warmth and kindness but also for the legacy of compassion they leave behind.

Though words cannot fully capture the depth of our sorrow, let us also celebrate the joy and inspiration Gerard and Madison brought into our lives. May their spirits guide us towards a brighter tomorrow, reminding us to embrace life’s adventures, love wholeheartedly, and treasure every moment we have with those we hold dear. Their light will forever shine brightly in our hearts.
