Geraldine E. Town, 92, formerly of Queensbury, New York, died on April 6, 2018 in Williamsburg, Virginia, where she had recently moved to be near family.  Mrs. Town lived for more than fifty years in the Glens Falls/Queensbury, New York community.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Town, daughter of Mr. John Quinn and Mrs. Mary Thomas Quinn, was raised in Steubenville, Ohio, along with her late brother Clifford.  After graduating from high school, Mrs. Town attended Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, where she met her husband to be, James E. Town, Jr.  Mr. Town was a returning World War II veteran, and a business major at B-W.  They were married in 1946.  Mrs. Town graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1947.

Mrs. Town is the mother of three children, Dianne Mongold (Bob) of Williamsburg, Virginia; James C. Town (Jeannie) of O’Fallon, Missouri; and, Leslye Leiter (Bob) of Santa Barbara, California.  She is grandmother of six:  J. Scott Norton, Stephen E. Mongold, John R. Mongold, James O. Town, Patrick O. Town, and Danny O. Town.  She had eight great-grandchildren:  Elizabeth and Robbie Norton;  Ben, Kyle,  Will, and Josh Mongold; and Amelia and Quinn Mongold.  She is also survived by a step sister, Joyce Henson (Bernie) of Charleston, West Virginia.  Gerrie loved her family.  Her living room and dining room bore testimony with countless photos and memory books on display.

Mrs. Town was a member for many years of the Glens Falls Country Club.  She had a passion for golf and played well into her 80s.  She was also a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Glens Falls, and active in many different community organizations throughout her life.  She especially enjoyed her work with the Hospital Guild.  For more than fifteen years she worked at the Glens Falls National Bank (now TD North).  She retired in 1988.

Mrs. Town had many friends in the Glens Falls/Queensbury area whom she loved dearly, and who loved her as well.

Services in memory of Gerrie Town are pending and will be held in Queensbury at a date to be announced.  She will be interred with her husband Jim at the Gerald Solomon Veterans Cemetery in Saratoga, New York.
