For the family of Cookie Mahone: We have lived on Capitol Landing Road going on 28 years. We are so happy to have had Cookie as our early historian for our home. His willingness to share tales of his family's days of owning and occupying our house from stories of tornadoes that leveled several large pecan trees in the back yard and took out the garage to stories of young children romping through the house and sliding down bannisters much to the their elders chagrin. We enjoyed them all. We now have two pictures of the senior Mahones who once owned a home where Camp Peary now exists. These were sent to us by Daniel Mahone when they came to stay at Governor's Trace B&B. We love that Cookie gave us his best compliment when he brought his second wife to our house and told us more stories. Thank you for sharing, Cookie.

I knew Cookie when I worked at Williamsburg Country Club. He was such a fun person and always had a smile on his face. I can picture him dancing with Fran and Jimmy Valentine. He got tired so he put a chair in the middle of the dance floor. He will be deeply missed, but I have the pleasure of knowing him. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
