Gifts & Memorial Donations

After a brief period of declining health, Frederick George Crouch (George) passed away peacefully at his home in Williamsburg Landing on October 19, 2023 just shy of his 94th birthday.  George was born in Sarnia, Ontario on December 6, 1929 to Frederick and Gladys Crouch and spent his boyhood years in Granton, Ontario where his father served as train station manager for the Canadian National Railroad.

After completing his primary education, George first attended Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, where he met the love of his life, E. Patricia (Pat) Reynolds whom he married on September 22, 1951. George went on to complete his university education in Halifax, Nova Scotia receiving a degree in Chemical Engineering. George and Pat began their marriage in Deep River, Ontario, before relocating to Philadelphia, PA and ultimately to Williamsburg, VA where George advanced in his career at Dow Chemical before retiring in 1992.

George and Pat were the proud parents of six children, Debbie (Bart) Adriance of Galveston, TX; Barbara (Rob) Hope of Newport News, VA; Steve (Nora) Crouch of Richmond, VA; Joanne (Bill) Dudley of Denver, CO; Andrew (Andrea) Crouch of Waterbury, VT and Jeff (Janet) Crouch of Columbia, MD.  They were also grandparents to Warren May, Andrew Crouch, Alex and Christopher Dudley, Jonathan, Matthew and Nathan Crouch and Elise Crouch.  George is also survived by his step-sisters Betty Lou
Finch and Mary Rose Elders.

In addition to his parents and wife, George was predeceased by his sister, Mildred Gorth, his half-brother, Donald Crouch, his step-mother Ethel Crouch, his granddaughter Katherine Crouch and his grandson Ryan Crouch.

George was an active member of the Williamsburg Kiwanis and a long-time member of Bruton Parish Church.  George was a talented wood-worker crafting beautiful pieces for Pat and other family members over the years.  Often with all six children in tow, George and Pat also shared a love of travel with their family with trips back to Canada as well as to England and Italy. Remembering his Canadian roots, George loved hockey, ice skating and skiing.

The family would like to extend our thanks to Casey Cato and other caregivers from Home Care Assistance of Williamsburg/Richmond for the companionship and nursing care they provided to our dad over the last several years since our mother’s passing in 2019.

A celebration of George’s life will be held at Bruton Parish Church on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kiwanis Club of Williamsburg Foundation, P.O. Box 1265, Williamsburg, VA 23187.
