Gifts & Memorial Donations

Johnathan Evan Neill Strandberg, 24, was released to the heavens on April 5, 2020. A 2013 graduate of York High School, Evan enjoyed many job experiences in the outdoors. Not one to be confined indoors, Evan was a free spirit who loved the water, mountains, camping with his family, music, and breathing the fresh air. Always a playful man, he will be remembered for his pranks, good natured humor, and willingness to lend a compassionate ear when needed.

Evan is survived by his loving parents, Shannon and Ken Leary; brothers, Kenny (Michaela) and Trevor, and sisters, Lauren and Madisyn. He also leaves his great grandmother Shirley Hughes; loving grandparents Dennis and Phyllis Neill; grandmothers Janet Strandberg and Elena Leary; uncles, Jimmy, Phillip (Anne) and Keith Neill and Joe (Michelle) Leary; aunt Karen; a special cousin Catherine; his beloved dog Lucy, and numerous other extended family in Illinois and Rhode Island, all of whom loved him very much. Evan was preceded in death by his father John Kevin Neill and grandfathers Malcolm Strandberg and Joseph Leary.

A celebration of life will be scheduled when possible and will be held at Bucktrout Funeral Home in Williamsburg, Virginia.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution in Evan’s memory to Spiritworks Foundation. www.spiritworksfoundation.org

    Donna Hughes says:
One of my favorite memories of Evan is when he was about 8 months old. I was carrying him around, introducing him to all the sites and sounds of the Colorado outdoors. He was so attentive and amazed at every bush, tree, rock. He was a sweet, beautiful boy and man.
