Erin Delaney Julia Westover Parrish was brought to her eternal peace on September 23, 2023 at the age of 36, after an almost three-year battle with breast cancer.
Erin was born on April 28, 1987 in Edison, NJ. She grew up in a large, loving family. She attended St. Matthew’s School, followed by Bishop Ahr High School and earned a scholarship for her all-Catholic school education. She earned her Bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University, studying Psychology and Speech. She went on to get a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, and she worked in schools in New Jersey and Virginia as a Speech-Language Pathologist. In the middle of her treatments, she also found time to go back for a postgraduate degree (Ed.S.) at Regent University in Exceptional Education and Executive Leadership.
Erin married the love of her life, Ernest Parrish, on January 2, 2023. They lived in Lanexa, Virginia with their kids, Noah and Finn; cat, Cheddar; dog, Beans; chickens; and a variety of houseplants.
Erin was creative, funny, brilliant, and generous. She attended World Youth Day in Australia in 2008 where she met Pope Benedict XVI and she attended again in Brazil in 2013 where she met Pope Francis. She volunteered and supported charities such as the Justin LiGreci HIV/AIDS Foundation and the Camp Hope and Life program. She loved music, art, and most of all, her family.
When diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021, she fought with incredible strength and grace. She served as a role model and beacon of light to so many. She joined the Here for the Girls Breast Cancer Foundation, where she served as board member as well as an advocate for breast cancer awareness and screening.
