Gifts & Memorial Donations

Eric A. Myall, Williamsburg, VA.  Passed away peacefully in his sleep at Sentara Williamsburg Regional Hospital, on December 29th, 2022, due to complications from pneumonia and COPD.  Born in England on September 25, 1934, Eric lived an interesting life.  He leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Shirley, and their only daughter, Zena (Daniel). Born just prior to WWII starting and being a kid during the bomb raids, dad learned a lot about military life and the British military so joined the Royal Air Force for a few years once he came of age.  Those days actually took him out to sea and he “cruised” to many interesting places that he liked to tell tales about.  He spent a few years going from job to job, and had many different service jobs, all of which he enjoyed until he started learning how to make shoes.  He met his wife, Shirley, through his gun club and a dare, and due to her love of horses and bringing home things to be repaired, he was directed towards his career of a Master Saddler.  Through various employers, even running his own business for a short time, he finally ended up in America to work for Colonial Williamsburg for 25 years.  Eric and his family became American Citizens and enjoyed their peaceful life in Williamsburg, VA.  He retired, kicking and screaming, in January, 2009, but resumed his own business from his backyard shed doing repairs for a lot of the horse riders in the area as well as some work for Colonial Williamsburg.  Eric and his stories will be sadly missed by many.  Condolences may be mailed to Shirley and Zena Myall, 4962 John Tyler Hwy., Williamsburg, VA 23185.  A memorial services is planned for Saturday, February 4th at 3pm at Warwick Memorial United Methodist Church, 38 Hoopes Road, Newport News, VA 23602 with a reception to follow.  All are invited to come and celebrate this wonderful life, share stories, and remember the fun times with Eric.

Eric was my uncle and my inspiration. It will forever be a regret that I never got to spend workshop time with him. I can hear his voice in my head though and we will never lose that. Condolences and love to Shirley and Zena x

There will never be another. You were so beloved. So many happy memories. My heart is broken knowing I will never have those early morning conversations and hear those stories.
