Emma ìJeanî (Thompson) Jaynes, went home to be with our Lord on Monday, March 25, 2013 at the age of 78. She had been a resident of Williamsburg for 55 years, moving here from her childhood home in Farmville, VA in 1958. She retired from Eastern State Hospital in 1988 after 23 years of service. In her retirement she enjoyed playing Bingo, traveling, working with her flowers and plants and a variety of crafts.
She was preceded in death by her beloved son, T.O. Thompson, Jr.; her parents, Wallace and Margie Woodson; her sister, Katherine and brother, Merrill.
She leaves behind her loving husband of 8 years, Jimmy Jaynes, her beloved children, Barbara Duke (Jim) and Terry Thompson (Evon); her step-daughter, Debbie Brown (Bo) and daughter ñin-law, Cookie Thompson; ten grandchildren;14 great-grandchildren and one sister, Flora Bolt; two brothers, Robert and Garland Woodson.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 12:00 ñ 2:00 PM at Bucktrout Funeral Home, 4124 Ironbound Road, Williamsburg, VA 23188, where a service will follow. Burial will be private at a later date.
