Eleanor Z. Norris, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on August 28, 2023, in Williamsburg, VA, at the age of 85.
Born on December 21, 1937, in Pennsylvania, Eleanor lived a fulfilling life dedicated to her family and community. She was the daughter of George H. Zoll and Helen Opdyke Zoll. Eleanor’s warm spirit and unwavering commitment to her loved ones will be deeply missed.
Eleanor proudly served as a secretary for both the Souderton, PA police Department and Souderton School District. Her dedication and professionalism earned her the respect and admiration of those she worked alongside. Eleanor’s genuine care for others extended beyond her professional life, as she frequently volunteered her time within the community.
In her free time, Eleanor pursued her passions, which included attending secretarial schools, cooking and baking delicious meals for her family, sewing, camping, playing cards, skiing, and traveling to visit loved ones. She found solace and inspiration through her involvement at Zion Mennonite Church in Souderton, PA.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald E. Norris, who shared in her joys and supported her throughout their journey together. She is also predeceased by her parents, George H. Zoll and Helen Opdyke Zoll.
Eleanor leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion. She is survived by her daughters, Deborah N. Maccagnan (Victor) and Sandra N. Siegel (Peter); her brother, William J. Zoll (Judith); her cherished grandchildren, Katherine C. Perry (Clayton), Madalyn H. Siegel, John J. Maccagnan, and Hannah S. Tyrrell (Jordan); and her great-grandchildren, Jude and Michael Perry.
A memorial service to honor Eleanor’s life will be held on September 8, 2023, at 11:00am at Bucktrout Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at a later date at Zion Memorial Gardens in Franconia Township, PA.
Eleanor’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her kindness, warmth, and selflessness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to have been touched by her presence.
