Edwin Lee Hall, Sr, 95, of Williamsburg, passed away on January 19, 2021.

After graduating from high school, Edwin played on the local Gloucester Amoco baseball team, where he acquired the nickname “Scoby”. Edwin started work in Civil Service at the Naval Weapons station in 1943 and was transferred to the Norfolk Naval Base in 1970. He eventually retired from Civil Service in 1973. After retiring from the government, Edwin spent over 20 years selling cars for Bowditch Ford and Person Ford. Edwin was an honorary member of the Williamsburg Fire Department where he spent many years volunteering. When he wasn’t working, his hobbies included watching his children play baseball and softball and spending time playing golf. He was a member of the Williamsburg Baptist Church.

Edwin is preceded in death by his wife, Reba Whitmore Hall; and parents, Gladys and Hobart Hall. He is survived by his children, Edwin (Charlotte) Lee Hall, Jr., Eunice (Herman) Gill, and Tommy (Misty) Hall; sister, Elsie Mae Hall Belvin; grandchildren, Herman S. Gill III, Steven (Virginia) Hall, Thomas Gill, Alyssa (Austin) Goforth, Jonathan Hall, and Christa Hall; and great grandchildren, Nellie Hall and Alden Goforth.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 25, 2021 from 10 AM to 12 PM at Bucktrout Funeral Home with service and burial to follow.

The family would like to thank Hospice House of Williamsburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edwin’s name, to the Williamsburg Fire Department.
